Natural Hair Loss Remedies

A luscious, full head of hair is everyone's dream, so it's no surprise that dealing with hair loss can be frustrating and a little bit scary. I've always had a thick head of hair since I was a child, and I remember a point where I was losing hair, and there was missing patches, which had me freaking out! One thing to keep in mind, some hair loss is normal! Everyone loses the occasional hair in the shower, or while brushing their hair. However, there are a lot of natural solutions to help with both new hair growth, and thickening your hair.

Healthy hair, starts with a healthy diet. Before you invest in an expensive hair product, make sure you're incorporating the right foods into your diet.

Here are some foods to add into your diet for healthy, vibrant hair:

  1. Pumpkin seeds: Loaded with zinc which is crucial for hair growth

  2. Wild-caught fish: High in omega-3 fatty acids, which supports hair growth

  3. Seeds: Chia, flax, and hemp seeds are high in fiber

  4. Bone broth: This is "trendy" for a good reason! It's loaded with collagen and amino acids, which supports hair growth

  5. Foods high in vitamin A: his vitamin also directly affects skin glands and helps produce sebum, a type of oil it secretes. Sebum moisturizes the scalp and promotes healthy hair growth. Foods containing Vitamin A include pumpkins, spinach, kale, and carrots.

  6. Foods high in B-vitamins: A lot of people who go plant-based notice increase hair loss, and it's usually because they aren't getting enough B-vitamins. This can be found in whole grains, almonds, meat, fish, and dark leafy greens. If you're plant-based, or taking birth control, you should consider taking B12 supplements. Birth control depletes vitamin B, and it's not as abundant in plants.

  7. Foods high in Vitamin C: Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is critical for collagen production. Add in foods like strawberries, peppers, and citrus fruits.

My Hair Loss Remedy

  1. Rosemary Essential Oil: Rosemary is one of the top essential oils when it comes to enhancing hair thickness and growth. I would keep a bottle of it in my shower, and add 3-5 drops into my shampoo each da. Let it sit on your scalp for a few minutes and then rinse it out. I noticed a ton of new hair growth in about a month of doing this.

Causes of Hair Loss
  1. Iron deficiency

  2. Zinc deficiency

  3. Hereditery

  4. Hormonal changes

I hope these tips help! Start by adding in the recommended foods, and invest in a quality rosemary essential oil, and I bet your hair will start to look fuller and stronger!
